SWT Students: Look at the Support You’ll Have When You Return to Bulgaria!

The SWT Alumni Association’s Entrepreneur Academy

The below was provided by Nikolay Bliznakov, a board member of the SWT Alumni Association. They recently held their second Entrepreneur Academy — an opportunity for former SWT students to network, learn and grow their businesses in Bulgaria.

The SWT Alumni Association’s Second Entrepreneur Academy

“We started on Friday, Feb 24, 2017 with a “Let’s meet each other” game where all participants introduced themselves.

Our lecturers Milen Ivanov, from the Founder Institute, and Todor Sarakchiev, from ABLE, shared very interesting entrepreneurship success stories.

On Saturday, Feb 25, 2017 Teodora Mircheva from Coursedot spoke about marketing and sales, emphasizing the fact that channels matter and our young entrepreneurs should go where their potential customers are.

Stoyan Stoyanov, a Euro projects consultant, talked about business planning and development. The participants were able to see in detail what a real project looks like.

Afterwards, Mariya Sapundzhieva gave a few hints on project proposals.

Teodor Panayotov, Coursedot CEO, presented funding opportunities and explained who can, and how to fund an idea.

We finished the day with a great performance by Mariya Bozhilova, from Net 1 and Eva Alexandrova, of Helion Research Center speaking about social entrepreneurship. They explained the idea that in being a social entrepreneur one should solve long-term social problems. What participants found valuable was the fact that social entrepreneurs’ businesses should take care of the 3Ps — people, planet, profit.

Sunday, Feb 26, 2017 — the last day of the Academy in Bankya was very exciting as well. Ruja Zagorska of SiteMedia Consultancy informed the students about new rules of communication. Silviya Kirova shared valuable information regarding “soft power” — communication and presentation skills and how important they are, especially in the entrepreneurship sphere.

Thank you Nikolay, for keeping our current SWT students up-to-date on what the Alumni Association is doing to support returning students.

The next SWT Alumni Association’s Entrepreneurship Academy will be March 24–26th.
