The Dominance of Michael Jordan in the NBA
With LeBron James recently breaking the all-time scoring record with his 38,388 points in the NBA, surpassing legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the conversations online rage on as who the greatest basketball player of all time is, which is otherwise shortened to The Goat.
You can’t go anywhere in an NBA Twitter thread without seeing at least one person actively talking about who The Goat is. While many people now believe that The Goat title should be handed to LeBron James, many others still argue that the Chicago Bulls hall of famer, Michael Jordan, is the rightful owner of the title of being the greatest basketball player of all time.
The dominance that Michael Jordan demonstrated during his 15 year career playing in the NBA is quite the spectacle to see. Quite a lot of new NBA fans may not know how dominant Michael Jordan was in his prime, but the numbers alone should speak for themselves. Michael Jordan led the NBA in scoring 10 of the 15 seasons that he played in the NBA and ended his playing career averaging 30.1 points per game.
Many of Michael Jordan’s peers have praised him over the years talking about how great he was. NBA legend and hall of famer Larry Bird famously said the quote “It’s just God disguised as Michael Jordan.” While the praise of sings and praises of multiple NBA legends speak for themselves, arguably the most impressive part about Michael Jordan’s resume is 100% win percentage in the NBA finals.
Winning 6 out of 6 NBA championships that he participated in, the legend of Michael Jordan reached new levels. With the 3-peats from the years 1991 to 1993 and from 1996 to 1998 Michael Jordan solidified his status as the greatest basketball player of all time for most people even to this day with the many superstars that are present in the NBA.
