I used to think that in order to qualify as a writer you have to have an extraordinary personality, or at least the extraordinary type of chance that finds you in extraordinary situations.

A writer has a writerly voice, that is, a mode of expression that finds itself through the written word. Pay and publication and character count be damned, if you can manage to find satisfaction within the confines of the alphabet then you’re a goddamn writer!!
