I’m Canadian, too. I thoroughly enjoyed your article about living alone.

Want more flowers more often? Pick wildflowers. I even have picked clover flowers in a small bunch. I have an affinity for clover, because I find many four-leaf clovers, which I press in a book. They grow wild everywhere and I doubt there is a ban on picking clover flowers.

More eating at home? It is actually way more economical to eat at home than to eat out, even if you eat organic. When I cook, I make a feast of mashed potatoes (or rice or pasta), veggies, and a roast — and divide it up into meal-size portions, then label and freeze. I BBQ family packs of pork chops/steaks/chicken pieces, make sweet’n’sour ribs. Soups and stews are nice — casseroles, too. The ideas are as endless as your palate — yum! I actually inherited a small freezer and it is now full of meals of varying taste. Nothing like coming home, heating up a meal, and eating. That beautiful food simply waits for you to bless it to your body. Almost everything can be divided up into meal-size portions. Especially is home cooking a valuable resource to have, if you eat organic food. You always know your own ingredients to be non-toxic. As far as having plenty of food on hand, if you don’t have a freezer, canning works too. That’s how my mom did it.

Perhaps your other readers will have some fabulous suggestions to share, as well. Living alone is a gift you give to yourself, which enables you to really find out who YOU are. You can be soooo good to yourself because you know yourself better than anyone else knows you! Thanks for sharing your awesome experiences!
