Free seminars aimed to help you to Mackinac success

It’s going to be a big Mackinac race this year, with 201 boats already registered before most boats are even in the water. There are 31 first timers among those boats.

To help skippers and sailors make the best out of the race, Wally Cross and Quantum Sails are putting a couple of sailing seminars in preparation for the 2015 Bell’s Beer Bayview Mackinac Race.

The first seminar is Lessons for Success: Featuring taped interviews, tips and insights shared by previous winners of the Bell’s Beer Bayview Mackinac Race, the two hour seminar will touch on a variety of topics including weather research, watch system, secret-weapon sails, race strategy, boat prep, crew planning and more.

When: Tuesday May 5, 2015 7:00–9:00pm

Where: Tompkins Community Center, 14920 Windmill Pointe Dr, Grosse Pointe Park

The second seminar is How Well are You Prepared? : Have you gathered the proper equipment, planned your sail inventory, practiced with your crew, completed your boat prep? Getting ready for a Mac Race can be daunting. Starting with a check-list and insights from race veterans will help make the process more enjoyable and contribute to a successful race.

When: Thursday, June 4th, 2015 7:00–9:00pm

Where: Port Huron Yacht Club, 212 Quay St, Port Huron
