Kerrie Barno moves to DYC

Kerrie Barno, a long-time member and media favorite at Bayview Yacht Club, is moving to the Detroit Yacht Club where she’ll be clubhouse manager.

Her first day at DYC is today, the start of the Memorial Day weekend.

“I’m going to be working with marketing, helping out with membership and sponsorship,” Kerrie said. “It’s such a beautiful building, the facility is magnificent. I can’t wait, it’s exciting.”

She joins former BYC manager Mark Steffke, who is now DYC manager. Another former BYC employee, Lena Argott, is also at DYC.

Kerrie said is wasn’t easy to leave Bayview after 23 years.

“I loved the members and all that, but it’s a new challenge,” Kerrie said.

She’s especially excited about the changes coming to Detroit and Belle Isle.

“I think it’s a great opportunity.”
