Local team in finals at New York invitational

The local team competing for a place in the 2015 New York Yacht Club Invitational Cup U.S. is still i the running after two days of sailing.

The Bayview Yacht Club team of Paul Hulsey, Todd Jones, Sarah Somes and Alex Hume were in fifth in their division after the first two days of racing.

The top six boats in each fleet move on to the finals in the last two days of sailing. The three top finishers will receive an invitation to the 2015 invitational.

The BYC team fouled another boat in the fourth race and never recovered, which knocked them down in the standing a little, but not enough to keep them out of the final. Fortunately the scores do not carry over into the next round.
