Not too late for Corinthian Cup

You’re cutting it very close if you haven’t registered for the Corinthian Cup but you still have a chance to help your boat enter for this new trophy in the Bell’s Beer Bayview Mackinac Race.
The Corinthian Trophy is brand new this year and will be awarded to the boat with the best corrected overall time in the Bell’s Beer Bayview Mackinac Race that has an all amateur crew. Boats sailing either course are eligible.
All you have to do is go to ISAF.org and register for your classification as an amateur sailor.
I did it. It’s free, takes about three minutes of mostly answering questions about whether you’ve received any money for sailing — in other words, are you a pro or an amateur.
Your boat can only compete for the Corinthian Trophy if every single crew member is registered as an amateur with ISAF, the International Sailing Federation.
It’s up to crew members to make sure their boat gets registered. Skippers will be asked to include each crew member’s email address when they register their boats at byc.com. In turn, each crew member will receive an email asking for their contact information and their ISAF number.
Periodically Bayview will check with ISAF to see if the crew member is a Class 1 sailor, or amateur, or a Class 3 sailor, which is a professional.
Don’t wait too long to do this. ISAF can take a while to process your application.
Want to check if your boat is registered? Go to the lists of entries on the byc.org site. Registered boats have a yellow square near their name.
