BBC accuses Muslim lawyer of Extremism
They get it wrong again!

If you watch the above video, you can see that the report is about 2 Muslim women. One trying to promote an extremist ideology, and the other empowering British Muslim women.
Ibtihal Bsis, a British lawyer is letting British Muslim women know about their rights, in this country. There is nothing wrong with that. She’s not promoting terrorism or extremism. There are indeed many Muslims in this country who are worried about the CTS bill, that was recently passed. In an article Dilly Hussain wrote for the Huffington Post, he stated:
“Once the CTS Bill passes, which it most definitely will, public sector workers will be forced to become state spies. Doctors, dentists, university staff, school and nursery teachers will be legally obliged to report their colleagues, patients, students and nursery kids as young as three to the authorities…..”
Many Muslim parents are anxious about how their children will be treated in state schools. Will they be harrassed by teachers or authorities, for simply saying something which may be perceived by some to be extreme? Will they be allowed to wear the hijab or pray at lunchtime? So the above speech by Ibtihal Bsis was a way to give parents back control over their childs’ right. She is empowering Muslim to exercise their democratic rights. I mean we’re not living in a country that tells minorities, that in order to live in this country, you must agree with every single government policy, are we?
The extremist in this case is Sara Khan, who is peddling the government’s extreme narrative that all Muslims are a potential threat to this country. It is people like her, and policies that presented by Prevent and Quilliam that are a threat to this country. They are a threat because they are ignoring the main reason for terrorism. In his book, “Marching Towards Hell” Michael Scheuer, the former CIA intelligence agent, specifies quite clearly that the motives for Al Qaeda was the USA’s military bases in the Middle East, supporting dictators, and America’s support for the Zionist state.
The report suggests that some Muslims are saying that speakers such as Ibtihal Bsis are promoting dangerous ideas. If this is the main concern for the BBC, then surely they should carry out a survey amongst Muslims, asking them if someone is advising Muslim women of their rights, so that their children are not taken into care, is that really a threat to the UK? They will never do that because they already know no sane people would tolerate this nonsense. Imagine the government passing laws against black people or Jews, spying on them just in case they were involved in any illegal activities.
The one person who really gets to me in this report, is the so called Imam. Monawar Hussain said that he has more rights in this country than any Muslim country. Firstly Imams are supposed to offer support to all Muslims, to openly vilify a Muslim woman for simply telling other sisters their rights, is not only abhorrent but totally unacceptable. The Muslims of his mosque should be asking him to step down as he is not emulating the true characteristics of a Muslim. Secondly before Muslim countries were invaded by Western countries, either shortly after the WWI or recently within the last 15 years, the countries were prosperous nations in which women and men could both, earn a living and walk freely in society. So it is clear that this man has sold his religious beliefs for being accepted into this country by the Tory government.
Sara Khan goes on to say that telling people that they are oppressed is dangerous because it is an extremist ideology and will lead people to do other dangerous things. Is she serious? So telling people about their rights, which will give them security in this country will lead them to commit crimes? Does she even listen to what she says?
In the past, the women who told other women that they were being oppressed were the ones who fought for women’s rights. It was the black people who told other black people that they were being oppressed, who were the ones who fought for equality. Most Muslims who are politically aware, feel that they are being oppressed in this country, by the Tory government’s anti-extremism laws. Telling them that they are not being oppressed, doesn’t help, it further isolates Muslims.
Then you see in the report, Prevent officers trying to promote their program which many Muslims have genuine concerns about.
My question to them, why don’t they ask Muslim parents what they think of the Prevent program? If they are really concerned in stopping terrorism, then they should be having serious discussion with Muslims from all fields. However, we all know they wont do this.
The Prevent program makes Muslims feel marginalised. They feel that they are all being targeted due to the Terrorist crimes committed by a few Muslims.
Those who work for Prevent must ask themselves, will their stratgy stop people from going to ISIS? Also whether their program will stop terrorism? Very few Muslims would agree with Prevent. Let’s face it, who knows more about how Muslims are feeling, the Muslims on the receiving side of this program, or those people who are paid by the Government to push the Government’s agenda?
Ibtihal’s talk on Syria, did not in any way, encourage people to go and fight in Syria, but this is what the report is suggesting. This is very poor journalism. There was a time when journalists used to edit what people said to fit their agenda, now they simply put words into their mouths.
Sara Khan, and the so called Imam, both suggest that we should challenge these types of views. I will go further than that, let’s challenge all views about this topic, but without secret cameras and withot labelling those who disagree with you as terrorists.
The journalist, Emma Vardy, at the end of her report, talks about the fear of Anti Western ideology. If she was serious about this, then why didn’t she talk to experts such as Michael Scheuer? This report proves that her goal wasn’t to find the truth, but to promote fear amongst non Muslims so that the government can continue with its agenda, to suppress Muslims abroad and steal their resources.
So, what can we as Muslims or non Muslims of conscious do about this? We must raise awareness of this, otherwise we will allow Muslims to be victimised for simply airing their opinions.
Whether you agree with Ibtihal or not, you must agree with the freedom to defend yourself from any governmental policies which you may think will harm your rights as a citizen. We don’t want this country to turn into a police state. Today they are targeting Muslims, who will thy target next?
We all know what happened to Dr Aafia Sidiqui. Sentenced for 86 years wihout any credible proof. Let’s not allow this to happen to another sister.
Back in history, at the time of the Khalifa, the Khalifa would send their armies to defend a sister even if she was attacked just slightly. Now I’m not saying that we need to send our armies to the BBC, however we must get our voices heard. We must protect our sister Ibtihal.
We should complain to the BBC and let them know that this kind of secret reporting, and having an agenda which is against citizen for just airing their views, is unacceptable to all of us.
