On Monday, August 20th 2018, Dr. Thomas Fung, Chairman of Fairchild Group and Mr. Joseph Fung, Managing Director of Saltagen Ventures had the pleasure of hosting a roundtable discussion that featured the Honourable Mary Ng, who is recognized for her work in Prime Minister Trudeau’s Standing Committee of Industry, Science, and Technology, amongst her many other achievements. Congratulations are in order for Mary Ng, who was recently announced as Canada’s Minister of Small Business and Export Promotion.

Other notable participants of the roundtable included Mr. Bill Tam, CEO of the Digital Media Supercluster, Ms. Carol Lee, Chair of the Chinatown Foundation, Mr. Ian Hand, Executive Director of SFU VentureLabs, Ms. Joanne Curry, VP External Relations of Simon Fraser University, Prof. Paul Cubbon, Leader of Creative Destruction Labs West, and Ms.Vilupti Lok Barrineau, VP Operations and Networks of the Asia Pacific Foundation. During the hour-long roundtable, ideas were exchanged and productive discussions took place in relation to the empowerment of small businesses regarding technology ventures, innovation and adoption. Opportunities in Asia were also discussed to help small business gain access and presence in the global market.
