Make it more fair

Whether it’s sitting behind a desk typing, or rambling on in a busy cafe, whether it’s carrying your little niece on your back to her primary school or head-diving drunk into a field of poppies, life is in the end what you look back on to. It’s the funeral of your best friend or the wedding of your dad. It’s the endless spectrum of colours flickering in your eyes just before you fall asleep. It’s tasting, eating, wasting away the time and before you know it another day, month, year has gone. In an hour.

You’ll love it, you’ll like it, you wish you never had it. You’ll sometimes wish you had it, but then when you have it, you throw it away like a pair of old panties that used to be your exes. In the end you’ll never know, you just go on. Go on like mad, like the mad hatter, like the mad hatter that never stops the chatter in your head.

The chatter in your head is in fact not the truth or the story you want to hear, it’s just chatter. And as a matter, the fact is that you’ll never, ever be more brave than that time you went with the girl you used to save from coming home, all alone, to smoke outside with you, and then suddenly hide, because there’s her dad, and he’s a prick, just such a dick for hitting her, and there you were.

Please stay there, because you make it more fair.
