Ha ha! Both these view points seem extremely valid and useful to people like me, who are on the brink of this single most important decision in one’s life. I’ve recently thought that there’s very little preparation you can do for the trenches of marriage and to be honest no one has a cooking clue if they’ll make it or not. But sometimes, perhaps from a primal sense of survival the resilience of the couple may lie in the realization that without eachother they are weaker. And to trudge ahead until you can surface and breath for air is the only option. I am absolutely in love with you today at the beginning of our marriage and in 20 years time you are my best bet at survival, and therefore in a different way this still makes you the person I am most grateful for, ergo the person I love.
First of all I wish you every success and a long life together.
