Ivanka Trump Supports Getting Rid of Rule to Combat Pay Discrimination

Trumps administration is ending a policy created in the Obama administration that required business owners to document how much they paid their employees. The owners also had to document the employee’s gender, race, and ethnicity. These documents were required to be sent to the Equal Opportunity Commision, and with the data the federal govornment would have evidence of pay discrimination.

The Trump administration is now getting rid of this rule, claiming that it is too much paper work for employers. An administrator from the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, Neomi Raom claimed, “It’s enormously burdensome.”

Ivanka Trump has always aimed her focus at closing the gender wage gap is agreeing with her fathers new rule.

Ivanka said in a statement, “Ultimately while I believe the intention was good and agree that pay transparency is important, the proposed policy would not yield the intended results.”

Many people are voicing their outrage over the subject, as it goes against everything Ivanka Trump has previously said on wanting to fix the gender wage gap.
