Lincoln residents outraged after being cut from the list of cities which were set to receive Bounty-less Celebration boxes.

Celebrations released a bounty free limited edition box, back in the beginning of November. Lincoln was supposed to be one of the recipients for their limited stock by the end of November, but has since been taken off the receiving list.

The limited edition tubs can be found in 40 tescos across the UK, none of which can be found in Lincoln.

The UK chocolate manufacturer, Mars Wrigley, removed the bounty after the results from a trial.

2,000 people completed a survey, aged 16 to 65, about whether the bounty should be excluded from the box. 39% wanted them ‘banished’ completely, meaning 61% felt that they should remain.

It also found that 28% felt as though coconut shouldn’t be in chocolate at all. The survey also found 38% of over 55’s chose bounty andtheir favourite chocolate.

I Debbie, Floor Manager, Tesco said: “[They] were set to receive their shipment but then it was redirected to a larger city down south.”

“We have been receiving a lot of comments and complaints from customers daily about this. Since hearing about it on the news, everyone has been coming in to try and get a box but ultimately they leave disappointed.”

Despite Morrisons not being in the initial agreement to receive the limited edition stock, Morrisons have confirmed that they were also receiving a lot of disappointed comments about the lack of a bounty free Celebration boxes.

The missing bounties have been replaced with additional mars, snickers, Milky Way, galaxy and Maltesers.

One shopper, aged 23 said: “My favourite are the Maltesers, why should living here [Lincoln] mean that I can’t have a celebration box with more of them in it? Lincoln is a city too.”

Another shopper, aged 46 said: “I really wanted to get a couple of boxes for my niece as she is allergic to coconut. It would have been nice if she could actually have everything in the box for once.”

Despite only having the original Celebrations boxes, it is one of the biggest sellers around Christmas time. One stand holding around 300 boxes has needed restocking after a couple of days.

This year’s boundless tubs follow the ‘bounty return scheme’ back in 2021. This allowed bounty haters to return the unwanted chocolates and swap them for one more to their taste.
