An Open Letter To My Community About Me!
If you’re reading this, you’re part of my journey that started with a single flight from Chicago to sunny LA. That trip did more than just transport me across the country; it transported me into a world of possibilities I never knew existed yet I desired so much. It was there, amidst the lifestyle of my rich auntie that a seed was planted for me. A seed that has been blooming every since that trip. It was as if I heard a whisper saying, “Look deeper Samella, there’s more out there to explore.”
Let’s fast forward to 2012, as I landed in Miami with a bit of hope and a knack for making my dreams a reality. #thepowerofmanifesting I had no friends, no job lined up, and no savings — just a burning desire to look deeper and explore more. Moving to Miami wasn’t just any normal transition; it was my proving ground, a place where I learned that with faith the size of a mustard seed and the ability to hustle with a spirit of excellence, anything is possible.”
“I worked as an overnight hotel manager for over six years, which seemed long, but my belief in my dreams of becoming a successful entrepreneur was stronger. The first proof points of my ability to achieve greatness were the move to Miami and my fortitude to start a tech company named Sebiya, whose name means ‘A young woman,’ without a lick of entrepreneurial experience. Sebiya, born from my many nights in hospitality, served well as a stepping stone until its closure in 2022. But as they say, when one door closes, another opens.
This May, we’re opening applications for our membership-based home exchange platform, with exchanges set to begin just in time for Summer. #HotGlobleSummer. Our neighbors can spend less and travel more, enjoying significant savings of 80% quarterly on accommodations.
