Sam Chandler is a junior JMC major from St. Petersburg, FL. During his time at Samford, he’s taken on many roles: sports writer for The Samford Crimson, sports editor for The Samford Crimson and sports information assistant for Samford Athletic Communications just to name a few.

“I joined SPJ to develop an active role in promoting thoughtful, ethical journalism. As a student-journalist, I’ve realized the value of reporting and writing according to the values of honesty, accuracy and objectivity. SPJ not only endorses these values, but actively works to preserve them. As informational gatekeepers who serve as the voice of the people, all journalists, especially those in the formative stage, need to understand their importance. I want to help spread the word.”

Thank you Sam for the contributions you’ve made to Samford student media and Samford SPJ. Journalism, and our chapter, is better because of you.
