From Bunch of Papers to Paperless Environment

As we are living in the age of technology where people are more focused on making automated procedures through utilizing different technological solutions and applications, just to save their time as well as cost in the long run. These technological innovations not only made their life easy, in terms of reducing human resource effort as well as their cost which they borne against employee's work.

Similar situation, I had observed in my last job as an HR Professional at ICMA Pakistan, where I experienced a lengthy procedures for getting single approval from the top management. For example, In order to get a single pen, one has to gone through a lengthy paper approval process which not only diminishing work productivity as well as time. Little issues were balloon into bigger problems. It was just a general example.

Being in HR department, we were facing lot of similar issues that is, in employees manual attendance system, where employees were used to mark fake attendences, or making false attendance in the manual register.

To address the problem, the management took following initiatives:

- Biometric attendance system had been installed where an employees needs to mark their attendance through making thumb impression on that machine or through eye scanning.

- In order to reduce long hours absenteeism during break time, it made mandatory for each employee to mark the attendance on that biometric time management machine even going for break, either officially or personally.

While taking these initiatives, HR Department were quite focussed to resolve the problem and achived their objective.
