Change-Maker 15-Second Bio: Secret Brown, Professional Learning and Organizational Effectiveness Coordinator
At the San Bernardino Community College District, our faculty and staff don’t just perform a job; they’re on a mission to make a difference for our students and our community.
Name: Secret Brown
Title: Professional Learning and Organizational Effectiveness Coordinator
Department: Human Resources
Location: San Bernardino Community College District Office
When I first started working here: August 28, 2015
What I do in five words or less: Provide professional development programs for faculty/staff.
What I enjoy most about working here: I’m always inspired when I see my colleagues grow professionally through workshops and self-investment.
The contribution I am most proud of: I am the first person to have this position at SBCCD, so I’m very proud of building our professional development programs from the ground up. During my tenure, I’ve created a comprehensive catalog that allows faculty and staff to see the exciting workshops we offer. A copy is available here.
One weird fact about the town I grew up in: I grew up on the west side of Chicago. The strangest thing was how people ordered food. If you didn’t state your order correctly, at certain places you would be asked to go to the back of the line until you figured out how to ask correctly.
If I could have any job in the world (besides the one I have now), I would be: A motivational speaker.
