EMPIRE | KVCR is the PBS and NPR affiliate station for the Inland Empire on 91.9 FM and TV channel 24 — a public service of the San Bernardino Community College District.

For years, EMPIRE | KVCR has brought Riverside and San Bernardino counties PBS shows, NPR news, and compelling stories. Now they are ready for their reviews. The station will host five free community conversations that will include food, and a chance to serve as an audience focus group.

“We want to hear your voice, and want you to actively inform our ideas about the stories we tell and how we tell them,” said Bruce Baron, chancellor of the San Bernardino Community College District, which owns and operates the station. “It’s the foundation of our public media mission.”

The five sessions will be:

  • Palm Springs — 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership, 3111 East Tahquitz Canyon Way.
  • Redlands — 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8 at the University of Redlands, Casa Loma Room, located along East Brockton Ave.
  • Temecula — 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 at the Temecula Community Recreation Center, 30875 Rancho Vista Rd.
  • Riverside — 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18 at the Riverside Main Library, 3581 Mission Inn Ave.
  • Claremont — 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20 at the Albrecht Auditorium, 925 N. Dartmouth Ave. at the Claremont Graduate University.

Sipel Taha, Director of Corporate and Strategic Relations for EMPIRE | KVCR, said the idea is to bring together public media fans across the Inland Empire.

“We are excited to listen to our community and better understand what they want to see and hear from their local PBS-NPR station and how we can better serve them.”

All ages are welcome to the two-hour conversations hosted by emcee Kellee McQuinn and sponsored by the Inland Futures Foundation of the San Bernardino Community College District alongside EMPIRE | KVCR.

The station will be giving out free prizes, such as “Public Radio Nerd” and “PBS Nerd” t-shirts, pens, and coffee mugs.

Admission is free, and an RSVP is required at www.kvcr.org/events/community-conversations
