Please tell me its #FakeNews!

When I first read the headline, I thought it might be another gross exaggeration by the media, because well that’s happening a lot nowadays.

Here’s the article!

“The allegations involve at least eight girls. In one clip, a 13-year-old incoming freshman shrieks “please stop” nine times during a span of 24 seconds. The technique, known as “forced splits,” happened at a cheer camp last June and was captured in videos that were later provided to school officials.”

After reading the story and seeing the images, I felt sick to my stomach. As a former governing board member of a school district and a father of daughters, I would have lost it.

“Officials at the high school found out about the videos on June, but did not fire Williams.”

At this point, I’m thinking these “Officials” need to be fired immediately for endangering the lives and violating the rights of the students they’re supposed to be protecting.

A public records request by the media is the only reason some of these folks were put on administrative leave, so good on the media for doing their job and it’s good to see the FOIA being put to good use!
