Here is a story by Howard on chicken sexing. Many of his stories contain religious allusions, which would never make it into news reporting today. And his use of the term “Orientals” is also completely outdated (not to mention racist.) After this story came out in 1948, he received a letter from Wayne Feeds in Fort Wayne, Indiana describing Chicken Sexing Schools and how Americans were being taught the skill to 98 percent accuracy.
