… placing all the blame on the media or a political party (because it really isn’t all their fault), I challenge you to battle sensationalism with an overdose of reality. How can you do that? Tell the stories of your classroom, the successes of your students, the facts of testing standards and evaluations and curriculum. Like you educate students on a daily basis, educate your constituents.
…is hardly a week that goes by where scandals aren’t being brought to the front pages in communities.When there is a gap in storytelling and information being shared on a consistent basis from the school district, the only message being heard is this: schools are failing students; teachers are overpaid, predatory and lazy; administrator salaries are out of control; my money is being spent on athletics instead of academics, etc. etc.
