Hello Sansar Community!

We want to do all we can to ensure you have the most positive experience in Sansar possible. That’s why we’ve compiled this handy list of all the moderation tools currently available to you.

Mute voice

You can mute the voice of any user.

In VR simply point your hand at them and hold the “grab” trigger (the middle trigger) to see a user’s name and options for that user, notably mute!

In Desktop mode, just mouse over a user to see the same menu.

Be aware: In Desktop mode your microphone is off by default. In VR your mic is on by default. You can check in “settings” if your mic is working and how it sounds.

Kick

If you are the creator of the experience you are in, you can use the following command to Kick people from your experience.

Open up chat and type the following: %%Kick Avatar-ID

For example: %%Kick NwbPwner-4021

Ban List & Allow List

Another level of moderation creators have is they can set a Ban List or a Allow List for experiences you create. You can add users to a Ban List to keep them out of your experience, or you can create a Allow List of the only users you want allowed in your experience.

Creating a Allow List

Be Aware: People on your Friends list can “Teleport to You” to be taken to the same experience you are currently. Use Allow Lists & Ban Lists if you have created experiences you don’t want all of your Friends to access.

Blocking a User

A recent feature we’ve added is Blocking. If you go to a user’s profile, or access the user menu on their avatar (mouse over them in desktop, or hold trigger in VR while pointing at a user), you will be able to block them.

If you a block a user, you will not be able to hear or see them, and they will not be able to hear and see you. You however both be able to see each other in Nearby Chat. If you were Friends, then the friendship is terminated.

Blocked users appear in Nearby Chat with a red ring around their profile icon. Friends have a blue ring, and users who are neither friends nor blocked, have a grey ring.

To unblock a user, you will need to access their user profile.

Finally, we wanted to let you know that we are working on improvements to our moderation tools and will be adding new options in the near future. Attend one of our Product Meetups or chat to us in Discord if you would like to hear more.
