What Changed My Life

Santiago Jaramillo

The moment that changed my life the most happened just 3 weeks before Miami Ad School started. On September 11, 2014 my girlfriend called me 5 minutes after getting into work to tell me the most life changing thing ever, that we are having a baby. At the moment I was so shocked I didn’t know what to do, I told my boss I had an emergency and left to Tallahassee right away to be with her.

After a couple days, we decided to tell our parents and of course it was a bit of a shock for both of them, but we received nothing but love and support from both our families and made us feel happy and optimistic about the situation. Since then, it has been nothing but joy and excitement for both of us about having a baby and although I know the real shock and life changing experience hasn’t happened…I know it will.

It’s hard to say I’m completely prepared for what’s coming because in reality, I have no fucking idea whats really coming. I know about the immense amount of responsibly that comes with being a father but I can just be optimistic and just do what I have to do to keep my family happy.
