Let’s find all female tech founders in Denmark

- and why the tech community needs to know them

Recently numbers from the Danish Business Authority and subsequent articles suggested that ⅓ of Danish entrepreneurs are female.

The news (although the numbers haven’t changed since 2001) were celebrated on social media and we at womenintech.dk were met by many saying “See, we have plenty of female entrepreneurs. What’s the problem?”

The problem? Again and again we see all male speaker line-ups and panels at events. Media attention is heavily focused on male founders. Investment lands mainly in the lap of male founders. This is discouraging to any young female founder looking for role models.

So we thought maybe the community needs help discovering the female founders out there. And us, female founders, need each other for inspiration, guidance and advice too.

That’s why we’re compiling a list of female tech founders to build a stronger community, but also to showcase that there are in fact women to choose from when selecting tech entrepreneurs for talks, panels, investments, articles etc.
