Mixed Bed Ion Exchange: For ultra-pure water applications, a mixed bed ion exchange unit is used. This unit contains a mixture of cation and anion exchange resins, providing higher purity than separate cation and anion exchange units.

Polishing: In some cases, the demineralized water undergoes further treatment, such as ultrafiltration or reverse osmosis, to remove any remaining impurities and ensure the highest level of purity.

Operating Principle of DM Water Plants

A standard two-bed DM water plant, also known as a DM plant, consists of pressure vessels with FRP/MS rubber linings connected in series with internal fittings. The ion exchange resins convert positive salt ions to hydrogen ions, producing water with low conductivity and total dissolved solids.

Mixed Bed Deionizers: These units produce higher-purity water by using a mixture of cation and anion exchange resins. They are used as polishing units after a two-bed DM plant to achieve extremely pure water.
