Things to do when you study for your finals..

Studying is always stressful for me. As the day of the exam gets near I feel nauseated and giddy. I eat a lot of chocolates and junk food. And sometimes I couldn’t sleep at all. Well.. all of these habits are bad on the long run. I know that. But I repeat them exam after exam.

However, this stress and overwhelming feeling could be useful too. For instance, I become my most philosophical self during the period of exams. As you sit down and try to concentrate.. a peaceful feeling of sitting in silence appears at the back of your mind. That’s when I try to write poetry. Good thing I study literature! If not I wouldn’t get any work done at all. So here’s something I noted down as I sat watching the sky.

Pilgrim

Go forth without an armour
For the wind is misty
Biting down the soul
This pain need to scar thy heart.

A pain yet to appear in its truest form,
Yet to make itself known,
For the dream itself is an illusion
Of life, of time,
And yet you run.

A stretched hand passing
Through the gushing wind
Invisible, yet changing
The patterns of star light
Doomed to die.

Go forth without an armour
Let it bleed, thy heart,
With every bitter battle
Memories lost and forgotten
Making way for the forget-me-nots
Which might appear on your grave.
