Nubit is the first Bitcoin-native Data Availability (DA) layer, developed by a team of professors and PhD students from the University of California. In Nubit’s pre-alpha testnet this March, participation was limited to Key Opinion Consumers (KOCs) with high interaction scores. Nubit has announced rewards for the Alpha Testnet on its official blog. The Alpha Testnet has now opened the following phases: Community Assemble, Light Node Quest, and Testnet Adventure.

1. Community Assembly interaction guide

First, go to Nubit’s official website: https://alpha.nubit.org/

Connect your wallet.

By default, the Keplr wallet is used, allowing users to import existing accounts or create new ones.

Go to the quest page. You will see three tasks; click on one of them.

You will be directed to the Galxe page, where you’ll need to connect your Galxe account. If you don’t have an account, you’ll need to register first.

Enter the Galxe Quest page

Complete the three tasks: follow Twitter, join Discord, and join Telegram.

After joining the Discord server, you need to click on ‘Solve Captcha’ to complete the Captcha.

Once you have completed the task, click the Claim 300 Points at the bottom right to claim your points.

Return to the quest page, and you will see that the first phase of 3,000 points has been completed.

2. Light node deployment

For the second phase of the Alpha Testnet, Light Node Quest, here are the hardware requirements for participation:

RAM: 500 MB

CPU: Single Core

Disk: 40 GB SSD Storage

Bandwidth: 0.1 Mbps Upload/Download

Linux and MacOS Deployment Guide:

Enter the following command in your terminal to run the light node:

curl -sL1 https://nubit.sh | bash

Your MNEMONIC, PUBKEY, and AUTH KEY will also display on the screen. Please keep this information in a safe place.

Copy your PUBKEY here and fill it in the PUBKEY filed in Step 3 to Verify it.

The above steps are all the interactions you can complete for the current phase.
