People started to use natural resources such as coal, steam, oil and wind power. It gave birth to new technologies such as trains and coal powered boats, this means that trade between nations is now faster and more efficient, what usually took a month can now be done in weeks. #3 What is Toeffler’s Third Wave theory and where do you think Thailand is in his suggested theory of change?
Toeffler’s Third Wave theory explains how humans have grown and evolve scientifically, economically and mentally over the period of time and split them in to 3 segments these segments are called waves. In Thailand everything is connected and documented such as bank informations, social security numbers, credit cards. Because everything is now connected globally by digital technology, businesses can be done overseas without having to ever to meet with the person whom you’re doing business with. Distances are no longer an obstacle. In my own opinion Thailand is between the second and the third wave. Because while Thailand is applying technology to various industries labor force is still needed in most parts.
