Technology is like a Running Horse. Just one difference, Everyone of the new generation Runs after this Horse.

Now there are some terms which are or have a chance to become a trending word. Like when smartphones came, “Selfie” was Trending, “Android” is still one of the most trending words.

Like these, Nowadays there are 2 words which can be said to be Trending for Computer Programming and Developing Geeks. Those are the words “Front-End” and “Back-End”.

Now, what is actually the meaning of these two words?

These two terms are parts of Web-Development.
Web development is the work involved in developing a web site for the Internet or an intranet. Web development will vary from developing an easy single static page of plain text too troublesome net-based net applications, electronic businesses, and social network services.
Now if we want to know how a website works, we have two now about some more Details.
For a Developer, a website has two parts,

  1. Front-End
  2. Back-End

Definition: Front end development manages everything that users visually see first in their browser or application. Front end developers area unit to blame for the design and feel of a website.

Front-end internet development additionally called client-side development is that the application of manufacturing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for a web site or net Application in order that a user will see and interact with them directly. The challenge related to side development is that the tools and techniques accustomed produce the side of a web site modification perpetually then the developer wants to perpetually bear in mind of however the sector is developing.

Definition: Back end development refers to the server side of an application and everything that communicates between the database and the browser.

Back end Development refers to the server side of development where you are primarily focused on how the site works. Making updates and changes additionally to observance practicality of the location is your primary responsibility. This type of net development sometimes consists of 3 parts: a server, an application, and a database. Code written by backside developers is what communicates the information data to the browser. Anything you cannot see simply with the attention like databases and servers is that the work of a backside developer. Back end developer positions area unit typically referred to as programmers or net developers.

Now when talking about Back-end development, lets discuss about what languages are used for back-end development.

  1. PHP

Majority internet sites on the planet wide web use PHP because of the back-end. The language will top any list of popular programming languages. The language is maintained by an awfully active open supply community and might seamlessly work cross-platform across the operating system, Mac and Windows.

2. Python

The open language has emerged together of the foremost fashionable and vital languages for developers. Python’s growing quality has created it a vital artificial language to be told recently. It is an associate degree apt artificial language to be told even for non-programmers attributable to its straightforward syntax.

3. Ruby

While Ruby on Rails framework features a slightly longer learning curve, it is still one of the most robust programming languages. Ruby has an active community of supporting developers. The good documentation and spectacular open supply dependencies build it one in every of the most effective programming languages for backend development. Ruby’s code is easy and expansive, which makes it easy to use even for complex development projects.

4. Java

Java has had a good reputation as a multipurpose programming language. Java is employed for desktop, web, and Android development. Even if you’re keen on new technologies, languages, and frameworks, you cannot ignore the importance of Java. There are various frameworks on the market these days that are supported by Java. Spring framework is that the most versatile framework used quality by developers.

5. Rust

The C-like language scores high points once it comes to developing a sturdy backend framework. The programming language is relatively new compared to C, but it is faster and safer in comparison to C/C++.

Back-end frameworks incorporate tools and languages utilized in server-side programming in every net development surroundings. The key to prosperous net application development is selecting the correct stack, understanding the server design aside from learning new databases and programming languages. The developers play an instrumental role in web development — creating the core logic around which an application runs and integrating it dynamically with the front-end. According to consultants within the net application development house, Node.JS and Python play a lead role in back-end development.

Some of the most popular frameworks are-

  1. Ruby on Rails

Rails is a web application framework written using the Ruby programming language and run on Linux. It offers developers a cushty secret writing setting, with simple compilation and testing. Thanks to the MVC design, developers will give with their piece of code for views or models during a synchronous setting.
Ruby on Rails also allows a smooth transition from development and testing to the final stages of the development lifecycle. It has built-in security-related features and utilizes a set of plug-ins prior to the release of the application.

2. Django

Django is a high-level Python web framework that provides a clean and pragmatic design to the database-driven websites. This open-source framework is based on the Model-View-Template (MVT) architecture, making it reusable and enabling components to plug-in seamlessly.
Equipped with an optional interface to set user permissions, Django allows administrators to create, update, and delete users easily. The framework is understood for its bundled applications, together with a dynamic body interface and tools to come up with Google sitemaps.

3. Laravel

An ASCII text file net application builder, Laravel follows the MVC bailiwick pattern. It is a PHP framework for intensive backend net application development, that facilitates seamless property with the backend. Laravel is well-equipped with statement tools and effective helper functions.
This backend framework was at first introduced as AN ASCII text file PHP net framework in 2011. Laravel has become well-liked because of its info migration, blade templating engine, intuitive interface, etc. The framework has constitutional utilities to access relative databases battery-powered by a standard packaging system.

4. Phoenix (Elixir)

The Phoenix backend framework is powered by the Erlang Virtual Machine (VM), which makes much better use of resources. The framework is capable of handling a large number of users simultaneously, by virtue of its high speeds. Similar to Ruby on Rails or Python’s Django, Phoenix is written in Elixir and follows the server-side MVC pattern.

Phoenix’s faster virtual machine reduces latency time and drives performance of a number of APIs. A large JSON request that takes about 1.5–2 seconds in Rails takes just 400 ms with Phoenix. The “cost per active 1000 users” in Phoenix is much lower than the other backend platforms.

This Series of Blogs will be about Back-End Development, It’s Description, prospects and about making the Back end of a website.

From the next part of this Blog, We will focus on Building web applications with Ruby on Rails.
