What Is Good Writing?

I believe good writing is clear, concise and strait to the point. You should engross yourself into your writing to make it come alive to readers. Some stories I’ll read seem to drag on and on. It’s important to keep your readers engaged without giving them unnecessary information or in some cases confusing them with big words. A good writer should be able to convey their emotions, ideas and information to a reader without restating themselves.

A few key qualities of being a good writer are being modest, precise, clear and efficient. The writer should know how to use proper grammar, punctuation and spelling. If you want to be a good writer you need to be disciplined to always reread, edit and accepted techniques for writing.

When writing you must know who your writing to, purpose, subject matter, and professionalism. One thing a writer should always be aware of is the constant changing environment around them. Always look at the resources that are out there to help make you better!

Looking back into history some of the best writers are William Shakespeare, Ernest Hemingway, Stephen King, Mark Twain and Issac Asimov. These writers did a great job of pulling their readers into the story. How they had a unique writing styles and kept their words simple.
