The Bel-Air Country Club is a well-known private-membership club that was founded in the 1920s. Since that time, it has served as a social club for Hollywood elites and others who prefer more privacy. Initiation fees start at $150,000, and club members include stars such as Kelsey Grammer, Tom Cruise, and Luke Wilson. Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon, and Spencer Tracy also have been members of the club. The Bel-Air Country Club is noted among the top 100 golf courses in the United States and the world by Golf Digest and Top100GolfCourses.com, respectively.

The Bel-Air Country Club golf course was designed by golf course architects George C. Thomas and William P. Bell and was opened for play in 1927. The course features fairways that wind through canyons and tortuous terrain, making a round of golf very challenging.
