Last Call for Traditional Advertising
Its not over, its just time to take the party elsewhere.
At this past weeks event “The Gathering” some of the most iconic brands presented the notion that traditional marketing and advertising methods as we know it needs to sober up and eventually change.
The Shift from Advertising just simply buying attention… to a new growing approach adopted by leading brands…
“Delivering exceptional experiences and content that drive attention which is shareable”
This was a reoccurring message expressed across the majority of speakers at the event.
These shaken and stirred ideas comprise the new mix of thinking that is changing the way leading brands are focusing their marketing efforts.
We are entering an brave new world of connecting with consumers and business using rich content to enrich their lives.
Pour me another shot of that — please.
Getting the Content Marketing Party Started
The new era of Content Marketing is being ushered in with the industry leaders in Marketing and Advertising welcoming the change with open arms. (or so it seems to me)
The ‘Who’s Who of the Industry was in full attendance and what seemed to be part celebration and 2 parts networking.
As the dust settles and everyone returns to their work I am confident that this event will be long remembered as a exceptional investment of their time.
The roster included speakers from: Red Bull, Canadian Tire, Dallas Cowboys, Cirque Du Soleil, Old Navy, Sport Chek, Tim Hortons, Nintendo, Frank and Oak, UFC, Google, and Vice.
Not a bad line up at all. Over the next few postings and articles I am going to hightlight some of the insights on how they have built ‘Cult like’ brand following.
Oh. spoiler alert…
It’s Content Marketing.
Cheers.
