Luck and the Meaning of Life

Some tasty existentialist ideas there, Tristan. Humans want to know “why,” and we’ve convinced ourselves of some wild stuff to satisfy that desire. Too bad for us, there is no “why”, there is only “how.” We make the why when we act with purpose.

We’re animals with no inherent purpose living an existence with no inherent meaning in a world with no inherent purpose in a universe which contains no inherent or absolute morals, completely devoid of any metaphysical system of reward or retribution for our behavior.

Uh oh. That means it’s up to us.
