Yes it is, and that’s what led it to being co-opted by the PB’s. Apparently there’s an African American activist on YouTube who uses the term “Uhuru” to celebrate the idea of reparations. Also, Gavin McInnes had someone on one of his shows who did the same thing… it may have been the same activist, I’m not sure.
The PB’s use of the word “uhuru” is nothing more than a sophomoric inside joke, an attempt to be provocative AND ironic (the true double-whammy of the right-wing hipster), a constant passive-aggressive middle finger hidden behind a shit-eating grin and punctuated by the same giggles that you hear when a 12-year old shares his dad’s playboy collection with his buddies.
