It’s time for my Oxy

I’m happy to say.

I get it every six hours

Then await another day.

It’s time for my my Morphine

I’m happy to say.

I take it in pill form.

I take it twice each day.

The pills reduce my pain

I’m happy to say.

Well, most of it I guess.

I’m still in pain all day.

I’ve taken this a year now

I’m happy to say.

But never as an addict.

No crisis here this day.

No opioid crisis in my life

I’m happy to say.

I take mine as prescribed

Or they’ll take it away.

They count my pills each visit

I’m happy to say.

If it’s not right I’m finished.

I’ll die on that sad day.
