If it was all contained in Spotify they would never have to deal with Apple. Apple wouldn’t be part of the equation. Spotify could offer the same exact user experience from their website. Why would a user care if the icon they hit on their phone led to a self-contained app, or the exact same thing but on a website? App sales are way down in the App Store, this is the way the App industry is moving. I just don’t see why Spotify can’t do the same thing. Especially when you are talking about 30% of your revenue. I’m pretty sure they could replicate the UX and get that 30% back. I don’t know, I’m not an expert on this by any means, but I do know Apps are dying and moving to the open internet. It just seems like common sense for Spotify to cut Apple out
