PewDiePie aka Hitler Fanboy?

While I’m going to assume a lot of you(based on the demographics of my personal followers etc.) are not aware of the articles that are being written on almost a daily occurrence now about new media Influencers. I’m certain you’ve seen the latest flood of useless shit postings about PewDiePie.. aka “THE SECOND COMING OF HITLER.”

In case you live under a rock, Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg aka “PewDiePie” is a YouTuber who has 53,700,000 subscribers on YouTube at the time of me writing this and is the single largest channel on YouTube. A video from Felix gets around 3–7 million views on average, and he averages over 12M views on his channel daily.

PewDiePie had an article written on him by three Wall Street Journal writers proclaiming that he is an Anti-Semitic, who thinks Hitler was right all along… Seriously, I’m not making this up. If you want, you can read the article yourself.

I can’t think of one person who follows someone like PewDiePie under the age of 25 who cares what a company like the Wall Street Journal thinks about his content, satire, or if they think it’s appropriate or not.

PewDiePie reinvented himself a while back and focused on addressing the Elephant in the room.. Political Correctness. Like his young fanbase, he hates political correctness and the idea that everyone deserves a trophy, you can never hurt anyone’s feelings, and a lot of subjects are off limits.

Now, for the record, I’m not defending PewDiePie nor does he need me to defend him. I’m just amazed at how hard the mainstream media is trying to destroy his reputation and his ability to create and publish content. Destroy or Report? Every piece I’ve read thus far has had an “I hate you and what you do” angle to it.

It’s 2017, and the level of political correctness has reached an all-time high(at the moment), and people are sick of it. Stories based on political correctness and quotes that have been taken out of context are turning the under 30 crowd off at an alarming rate.

With that said, PewDiePie doubled down today as only he can. He released a video titled “I KILL HITLER! *not click bait*” of him killing Hitler in a video game. In this video, you more than likely will find yourself laughing non-stop, at least I did.

At this point, I can’t wait to see how the Wall Street Journal replies. Before this video was released, PewDiePie said that the WSJ gave him an offer to argue his position and explain himself to the world on THEIR platform. Why would he give the WSJ an interview explaining himself so they can get clicks and views when he can post a video and get 3–5 times the exposure and tell his side of the story to those that matter most.. his fans.
