Satoru Gojo, from Jujutsu Kaisen by Gege Akutami

Satoru Gojo is one of the most popular new-gen animanga characters from Jujutsu Kaisen. While he is known for his handsome looks and being overpowered, many believe that that is all there is to him which is not true. Gojo Satoru is arguably one of the best-written side characters in recent years an extremely important character in Jujutsu Kaisen.

Satoru Gojo is a teacher at the Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College and is the strongest character in the story. he is said to be extremely handsome and surprisingly is a rather goofy character. He doesn't take things seriously and is really arrogant because of his strength which is understandable seeing as he is the strongest in the world.

His first appearance solidified him as an important and strong character. he believes everyone should get second chances by not killing Yuji but instead taking him in as a student which he has done countless times like Yuta Okkutsu. He goes to extreme lengths to keep his students safe and create a strong and new generation of sorcerors.

Gojo's first appearance.

In the first season of jujutsu kaisen we don't see a lot of him but nonetheless plays a crucial part. we get to learn a lot about him in Gojo’s past arc. We learn that he has been ridiculously strong from the beginning and had a best friend named Suguru Geto who turns out to be the antagonist’s leader in the series.

During the entirety of his past, we learn how goofy Gojo was and how he didn't take things seriously. we see him going on a mission to secure the star plasma vessel alongside Geto. when all seems great Gojo is attacked and supposedly killed by Toji Fushiguro and the star plasma vessel to who Gojo had grown close to, was killed. This fixed Gojo’s mindset and he started taking things seriously and proceed more cautiously in order to make sure that his close ones are never hurt again. Gojo then proceeds to unlock his true potential and kill Toji.

Gojo proceeds to lose his best friend to the wicked ideology of humans causing death due to their negative emotions that give birth to curses. Gojo is deeply struck by this revelation and was able to do nothing about it. During the events of volume 0 Gojo seems to have come to terms with Geto turning evil but was sad when he had to kill him with his own hands.

Geto Death Volume 0

This shows how much Gojo has suffered throughout his life even though he is the strongest he can't protect everyone alone. That is the reason he continues to take in students whom he sees potential in like Yuji and Yuta. Gojo also saved Megumi from the evil binds of the Zenin clan and took him under his wing.

Gojo also sacrificed himself knowing that his students will save and protect the people even with him gone in the Shibuya arc. In the Shibuya arc, he sees his friend who he had killed with his own hands which left gojo shocked and paralyzed. Gojo questioned him believing there was still good in him but was heartbroken when he realized his friend was certainly dead but his body was being used by someone else.

Gojo in Shibuya Incident Arc

Gojo’s sense of loss and trying to make up for it by training the next generation of sorcerors is extremely great and makes him an incredible character. Gojo isn't just some handsome and overpowered character. showing his character development because of his immense strength is an extremely creative and amazing way to develop such a character.

Also, this is just a note but Gojo ISN’T another Kakashi. Gojo is based on Urahara Kisuke from Bleach, from which Gege Akutami was heavily inspired.
