Obi-Wan Kenobi starring Ewan Mcgregor and Hayden Christensen

Obi-Wan Kenobi was rather underwhelming considering the way it was being marketed as the best Star Wars TV show to date. I personally was super excited to see it but was met with disappointment.

The main character, Obi-Wan was nicely fleshed out after his last appearance in ROTS. Seeing Ewan Mcgregor return as Obi-Wan was one of the many things that excited me for this show. His acting, facial expressions, and dialogue delivery were fabulous and unmatched. Obi-Wan got some great moments and development throughout with Leia and Vader/Anakin.

The side characters like Leia, Tala, and Haja were great and entertaining. Leia particularly was just amazing along with the perfect acting and capturing the essence of Carrie Fisher’s Leia Organa. She was without a doubt my favorite character apart from Obi-Wan and Vader.

The Villains, Oh My God the villains were amazing. Seeing Hayden Christensen return as Vader was just fabulous. Vader is in my opinion one of the best-written villains in media and seeing him and Anakin get so much development throughout along with Obi-Wan was amazing and satisfactory.

The 3rd sister in my opinion was pretty decent up until the end of episode 5 with her fulfilling her role as a huntress and a smart and cunning warrior. Her backstory as a Jedi youngling who was about to be killed by Anakin was rather compelling. Everything went downhill when she survived being stabbed by a lightsaber and then proceeds to go and try to kill Luke for no apparent reason other than that his name was mentioned on Obi-Wan's comm link. Giving every single Star Wars villain isn’t something that will always work and shouldn’t be used more than necessary like Boba Fett. That is the major problem I have with the 3rd sister in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The action was pretty great with the Duel between Reva and Vader then the final battle between Obi-Wan and Vader which in my opinion was easily a top 5 star wars fight. The emotions, choreography dialogues, and moments were just fabulous.

seeing Obi-Wan destroy the left side of the mask just like Ahsoka destroyed the right side of the mask but finally, it was Luke who was able to destroy Vader’s entire mask and save Anakin. The paralleling Dialogues like “I will do what I must” and “Then you will die” were extremely nostalgic and epic.

Seeing these unhinged Vaderscenes was just the cherry on top with him literally pulling down an entire spaceship without even tying. I have to go to say however that the first time Obi-Wan and Vader faced off it was extremely underwhelming but decent with the threatening Vader demeanor.

The emotional, wholesome, and funny scenes with Obi-Wan and Leia were just heartbreaking, heartwrenching, and heartwarming all at once that the next time Leia would see Obi-Wan he would die in front of her eyes.

The pacing sadly was just utter bulls*it. The first 4 episodes had absolutely terrible pacing with not much happening throughout their span. Episode 4 particularly was one of the stupidest episodes since Cal Kestis did the exact same thing as Obi-Wan and it was extremely hard to watch.

Episode 5 was a bit better and the episode was great but I do not go to give them full credit for doing something good only in 30% of the show. Overall, this was without a doubt nothing I was expecting. It was dangerously underwhelming and I will have to give this series a 7.5/10.
