I had not read Dakota’s stories before, and I can see why some people are skeptical. It does seem fanciful.
My problem is, that for many years, like a lot of other journalists, early in my career I covered Police and Courts. I have seen irrefutable proof for what initially appeared to be pure make-believe. One of my own daughters was once the target of an attempted kidnapping — if it hadn't been for the intervention of other parents and teachers it might have been successful. The animal who made the attempt was discovered after a Police search to have a huge amount of child porn in his possession. So I will NEVER dismiss claims made by women or girls regarding such thing. I think that it would be a good thing if other people didn't either.
The presumption of innocence unless PROVED guilty is established part of western history. It applies to burglars, muggers, killers, embezzlers and so on. Why doesn’t it automatically extend to claims by women regarding assault or sexual imposition? It should.
