Reid, I agree with your last point and sympathize that it IS easy to “demonize people who are powerless and are struggling against a lifetime of systemic oppression.” A discussion about race in this matter is certainly deserved.

However, a discussion of race HERE would just muddy the water more. The author is trying to bring light to the sexual harassment of women, something that doesn’t have to do with race. Let’s focus on the issue at hand.

Also, we can’t say it’s wrong of her to show pictures of the offenders just because they are black. Exempting them from their wrong actions because of race would be racism — exactly what we’re trying to avoid.
