The Jedi are suppose to be celibate monks. Yoda teaches Luke to remove himself from attachments to places, people and things. Even if that means allowing them to die. The jedi are suppose to be calm and thoughtful. That is the lesson of vader. His attachment to his mother and later wife were manipulated and his feelings of loss and fear led down the path to the dark side of the force.

Why can’t a new character ever be added without a link to an old character? Who was Hon Solo’s parents? Where did he come from? Solo was ignored in the prquels and free of attachments until old Ben dragged him into the rebellion.
