In response to the Heritage Foundation:

Call it what it is.

Your God told you to stone adulterers and disobedient children to death. Today, you don’t stone anyone. You open your arms and forgive. Your Bible also endorsed slavery, multiple wives, and beating both. Over time, empathy and ethics have changed your views.

If, in the name of freedom of religion, you treated every “sinner” the same way you wish to dehumanize members of the LGBTQ community, then and only then would it not be discrimination. However, that leads you to another problem.

Pretty much almost all of Romans 3. No one is righteous. All have sinned and fall short. So, if you wish to discriminate on the basis of sin, you are going to be mighty lonely on your high horse. Ah, you may have your fellow Saducee and Pharisee friends. That is, until you catch one another gossiping, lying, or coveting. Then, you’re out, too.

If you believe in your faith yet still back these claims, then you are discriminating against, destroying the lives of, people God loves. How does that sit with you?

I don’t believe in your God, and I think treating anyone so reprehensibly in the name of “morality” is despicable. Let alone doing it because you worship a “loving” God. So much for being witnesses for Christ…
