Leonhard Euler by Jakob Emanuel Handmann (1718–1781)

This time I’m going to talk about the math bulldozer Leonhard Euler, let me tell you that Euler is the most prolific mathematician in history.

He lived 76 years, during this period he wrote more than 850 books in Mathematics, If we collect his books, we will make 75 volumes with 600 pages for each volume. On top of all this, he has more than 4000 mathematical correspondences with other scholars.

He wrote almost in all branches of mathematics and he created two new branches, Calculus of variations and Functions of complex numbers.

There are so many things that bear his name, I’m sure you at least saw one of his magic

  • Euler’s theorem
  • Euler’s coefficients
  • Euler’s methods
  • Euler’s proofs
  • Euler’s constant
  • Euler’s integrals
  • Euler’s functions

and more.

Maybe you will say that 75 volumes are just filled with unimportant stuff, but NO!, I confirm you that Euler didn’t write unimportant things, every book was written by Euler it was better than the one before, he was like a tsunami of Mathematics inspiration

With his power of imagination, he wrote while he was blind, one of the most important things, the motion of planets and their orbits.

Frederick the Great

Usually, geniuses have social problems and are weird, But Euler was a social bomb, and he was involved in many branches of life.

Everyone needs him, the government calls Euler every time when they need financial advice, even Frederick the Great King of Prussia called Euler when he wanted to build the biggest fountain in Europe.

Now let’s talk about Euler’s equation, the equation nicknamed the most beautiful math equation ever

In this equation, Euler put four numbers that are not related to each other, let’s explore together

The first number is ‘ 1 ’

It is the origin of numbers and is known to all

The second number is ‘ Pi or π

An infinite number, our attempts to create the perfect circle came up with this number

The third number is ‘Euler’s constant or e ’

This number is used usually in banks, and it is a number that has to do with growth and multiplication, also it’s like Pi, An infinite number

The fourth number is ‘ i ’

It is an imaginary number when you do i square that’s will give you -1

Euler get and mix these four numbers, and bring out the simplest number we can imagine, which is Zero, in a big abstract process

Euler’s equation tells us that there is a very deep link between growth and circles and it’s the intersection of four numbers, each of them lift up a mathematical branch on his shoulders

Finally not because you read this story, it means that you knew everything, there are other stories you haven’t read yet and other stories you will read in the future 😁

Thanks for reading. 🥰
