This article is a short guide explaining Paragons for the sci-fi-themed trading card game, Parallel TCG.

Dated: April 2, 2024
Updated: June 27, 2024 per Patch 0.52

In Parallel TCG, a Player must select 40 cards from one faction and any number from the Universal card pool. The Player must also choose a Paragon.

A Paragon is a hero-like character. All Paragons have a Passive ability that is always active throughout the match and most Paragons are also a Unit and can be played to the Field.

There are a total of 15 Paragons, three for each faction.

Below we’ll examine some basic info for each Paragon and how to activate their abilities.

Kathari
Earthen
Shroud

MARCOLIAN

Lemieux, Master Commando

When Lemieux is your Paragon, you start the match with a 1/1 Vanguard Infiltrator on the Field.

When Lemieux is played to the Field, you choose between three Muster abilities, or, if Assault is active, all three Muster abilities will trigger.

Lemieux Muster
Catherine Lapointe, The Mad General

Catherine gives a +1/+1 buff to the second unit play each turn. When Catherine is played to the Field, she cannot be chosen to attack. Instead, Catherine will attack on her own at the end of your turn. When she attacks, her targets are random. So she may attack a Unit or the opponent’s health.

Catherine Buff and Attack
Armored Division HQ.

To take advantage of Armored Division HQ’s Unit Ability, you must attack your opponent’s health with a Vehicle. At the end of each turn, Armored Division HQ (ADHQ) gives each friendly Vehicle random stats:

ADHQ — Attack and End turn

KATHARI

Aetio, Exalted Hydrolist

When you play a Kathari Unit to the Field, waste the top card of your deck.

When Aetio is played to the field, the Muster activates and Aetio’s Iterant is created and attacks immediately.

Aetio’s Iterant
Gnaeus Valerus Alpha

When Gnaeus is on the Field, up to 3 target units will gain +1/+2. Units that deal combat damage and survive, will gain +1/+1 at the end of your turn. Combat damage includes attacking the opponent directly.

Gnaeus — Attack, Buff, And End Turn Buff
Scipius Magnus Alpha

Scipius creates a 0/1 Scipus’s Adjutant when you bank a unit.

Scipius — Bank A Unit

Scipus’s Muster ability triggers all Muster abilities that you have played during the match. This means that when you build your deck, you should be selective of what Muster abilities you include.

EARTHEN

Gaffar, Arbiter of Earth

To activate Gaffar’s unit ability, he must be chosen as a Defender when your opponent attacks. If Gaffar is attacked directly, he will not Pacify the enemy Unit. When you Pacify a Unit (friendly or enemy) all friendly Units will gain +1/+0.

Gaffar — Defend, Pacify, Buff
Nehemiah, Defender of Earth

When Nehemiah is on the Field, all friendly Defender Units will have Attack equal to their Health. After the first friendly Unit with Defender is destroyed each turn, target friendly unit gains Defender.

Nehemiah — Buff and Defender
Shoshanna, Rebuilder of Earth

With Shoshanna, you start with 40 health.

Shoshanna — Start With 40 Life

When Shoshanna is played to the Field, your life total is set to 30.

SHROUD

Brand, Eternal Steward

At the start of the game, you’ll have a 4/4 Corrupted Vision in your Singularity.

Corrupted Vision In Singularity

When a friendly Unit destroys an enemy Unit, the Units in your Singularity will each gain +1/+0.

Brand — Destroy And Buff

Brand damages an enemy Unit that Unit is removed from the game, and another 4/4 Corrupted Vision is added to your Singularity. When Brand dies, all Corrupted Visions in your Singularity will return to the Field under your control.

Brand and CVs
The New Dawn

When a card exits the Singularity on your turn, The New Dawn will deal 1 damage to a random enemy.

The New Dawn, Random damage

Here’s how to activate and banish The New Dawn:

Play and activate The New Dawn
Niamh, Wielder Of Faith

When you construct your deck with Niamh as your Paragon, you cannot include cards that cost 6 or more energy.

When Niamh is played to the Field, Units will be created and played to the Field.

AUGENCORE

Jahn, Chief Engineer

When Jahn is your Paragon a Unit with Salvage 1 will act like it has Salvage 2.

When Jahn is played to the Field, the bank is revealed randomly until an Upgrade is found. Then, you attach a quantity of upgrades equal to the number of cards Jahn revealed.

Jahn’s Muster
Arak, Combat Overseer

Arak’s passive ability generates 1/1 Nanobots when a friendly upgraded non-token unit dies.

Nanobot Creation

When Arak is played to the Field the Muster triggers and The Swarm is created. The Swarm is a 4/4 Unit with Aftermath: Create two 1/1 Nanobots.

Juggernaut Workshop

Juggernaut Workshop does not have a Unit that plays to the Field.

Instead, when all counters are removed from the Workshop, the player must select one of three Juggernauts:

  • 4/4 Attack Juggernaut
  • 3/6 Defense Juggernaut (Defender)
  • 2/5 Artillery Juggernaut, with the following ability:
When this unit enters the field, deal 2 damage to target unit.
