Each of the five Parallel TCG factions (Kathari, Marcolian, Earthen, Shroud, and Augencore) has a Starter Deck available for purchase.
FUND A WALLET
First, let’s make sure you have adequate funds to purchase the Starter Deck. A Starter Deck costs 0.01 eth on BASE. So, we need to fund a wallet with the funds necessary to: purchase the deck, bridge-to-Base, and pay any associated transaction (gas) fees.
Here are some steps to get there:
- Use a centralized exchange (CEX) (like Coinbase) or a decentralized exchange (DEX) (like UniSwap or CowSwap) to purchase Ethereum.
- Make sure you add Base as a network to your wallet of choice.
- Send that Ethereum to your Ethereum-based wallet.
- Next, you have to get those funds on BASE by using a bridge. (This is a link to the official Base bridge. This writeup by coinmarketcap has descriptions of other methods.
BUY A STARTER DECK
Step 1: Log in to Parallel.Life. (If you don’t already have an account, now is a good time to sign up!)
Step 2: Connect an Ethereum-based web3 wallet to the Parallel website.
CAUTION: Your wallet MUST be saved on Parallel.Life for the game client to recognize the digital collectibles in your wallet.
Step 3: Save your wallet on the website.
- Navigate to https://parallel.life/settings/wallets.
- Save the current wallet.
Step 4: Make sure your wallet is on BASE by clicking your connected wallet at the top of the screen and switching to BASE. A wallet popup will appear asking you to confirm.
Step 5: Navigate to the Parallel TCG shop.
Step 6: If you happen to not have enough eth on BASE, a notification will be on the Starter Deck purchase page. This notification has a link to the official BASE bridge.
Step 7: Select the number of decks you’d like to purchase. If you click on the deck icon, it will open another window showing you the deck construction.
Note: Currently, a Starter Deck is not a single token — it is comprised of 40 individual cards. Some of the cards are duplicates, so when you look at the cards in your wallet, it will say a lower number than 40, this is because you have that many unique cards, but the total number of all cards is 40.
Step 8: Click the BUY DECKS button and follow the prompts from your wallet.
There will be a window that displays the deck code for the deck, or decks, you just purchased. This deck code is used to import the cards into the client as a playable deck.
If you forgot to copy the deck code, or you need to import the deck again — or simply have a question about the process — you can ask your questions and find your Starter Deck codes in the Parallel TCG Discord.
