The day my student was expelled

As far as I’m concerned, there are no excuses for the police state mentally of our schools. I’ve heard countless stories like this and even far worse. This is why I homeschool my daughter. There is no way in HELL I would subject her to the draconian public school system. School kids have marginally more rights than convicted convicts serving hard time in prison. Why on earth would any allow their children to be treated so, guilty until proven innocent. Is there anything more un-American? Also there’s this “the faculty was explicitly instructed to report any student possessing weed”, perhaps. But there is no such thing as a nose witness. If you didn’t see it you have no genuine hard evidence of possession. The ninth southern federal district court ruled that the alleged smell of marijuana alone is not grounds to search a residence or individual citizen. But apparently in public schools, children of color don’t quality as American citizens, only prisoners waiting to be incarcerated. Sad you feel a “need” to overstep the actual law and violate Marcus’ basic rights. But as I always say in outrageous stories like this, yet ANOTHER reason to homeschool.
