“High confidence”? Is that a joke? I have a high confidence that extraterrestrial life exists. Doesn’t mean I have a shred of evidence to back that up. I’m also beginning to have a high confidence that the CIA has about as much hard proof, namely none. I’m not alone in this either. Retired experts from the NSA and CIA say there is virtually no chance that any hacking of any kind, from anyone, took place whatsoever. More likely a leak as Julian Assange of Wikileaks has said since the beginning. Experts also say if a actual hack occurred the NSA would definitely DEFINITELY know about it and furthermore know exactly where it came from. No question. Additionally they could reveal who was behind it (to everyone, not just some select electors) without jeopardizing national security. Thus the only “reason” to be keeping this secret from the public is because they have nothing. See for yourself https://consortiumnews.com/2016/12/12/us-intel-vets-dispute-russia-hacking-claims
Without proof the CIA has no credability. ZERO. Remember this is the same organization behind illegal coups, torture and worse. Remember Operation Mockingbird where they worked with the corporate media to feed the public propaganda lies? And remember Operation Condor, which was FAR worse? Here’s a refresher http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/46029.htm
You may also have heard that the CIA has moved drugs into the country to fund DEA operations, poisoning our kids and destroying our communitys and been involved with other illegal criminal activity. Believe it, it’s true. http://www.counterpunch.org/1998/09/01/whiteout-the-cia-drugs-the-press
There is even strong reason to believe that the CIA was behind the recent PropOrNot blacklisting of independent media in an effort to suspend the 1st Amendment and freedom of the press, and in doing so worked with Ukrainian Nazis. Again, the facts speak for themselves. http://www.alternet.org/media/anonymous-blacklist-promoted-washington-post-has-shocking-roots-ukrainian-fascism-eugenics-and
Point is, do you trust an organization as corrupt, dishonorable and dishonest as the CIA has been established to be to tell you the truth without proving it (especially now that you know they have no excuses for not providing their proof, if it exists)? I for one wouldn’t trust them with anything they can’t prove. And certainly not some anonymous rogue elements hiding like cowards and trying treasonously to disrupt the Presidential election of the United States of America.
And for what exactly? Do you realize that what Trump and Russia have been accused (with still no proof) of is simply providing the American public the truth about who their voting for? There is zero doubt on the authenticity of the leaked emails, the information is 100% true and trustworthy, it’s been verified. Nothing else is alleged to have been hacked. The actual voting machines are offline and impossible to hack or tamper with except in person.
So since when has the truth about who we’re voting for been a “threat” to democracy? If our “best” politicians are so corrupt that telling the truth about them stealing the primary nomination and lying to the American people about how they really think of us amounts to “espionage”, I think we have far graver problems than Trump or Russia.
