Belief Systems and Self Awareness

How self aware are you of your Belief Systems?

Today I’m sharing my insights regarding Belief Systems and Self Awareness.

I observed myself in Yoga Nidra — how I was allowing myself to be distracted by external noises — claiming curiosity but then I realized it was a deeper part of my consciousness and being.

Sometimes I feel I want to be distracted despite claiming I want to be Present with whatever it is I’m doing but something within is in resistance to this. It’s quite the paradox.

As I was lying down I remembered how in the past how easily I could fixate on finding the negative because my Mind would get caught up in a loop.

Over the years I identified this habit and I started working on consciously shifting my focus and being more present in my body.

So at a point in this practice I was able to observe this deep “unconscious conscious” aspect of myself that wanted to be distracted from the moment.

What was it I feared — better yet, what change was my Mind or Ego sending that it was avoiding?

That Ego Mind wants to protect me so it looks to ways of avoiding the unknown out of fear of the past which has nothing to do with it.
